Green Building Investment Underwriting Standards Steering Committee
The Capital Market’s Partnership Steering Committee for the Green Building Underwriting Standards is comprised of real estate finance industry professionals with direct expertise in underwriting, placing and/or securitizing long term debt and/or equity investments collateralized by real estate assets within the financial markets.
Representatives include professional from major international investment banks, consumer banks, quasi-government agencies, law firms, and others who have direct transactional and underwriting responsibilities.
The Steering Committee’s objective is to create, maintain, and update a real estate underwriting standard which acts as an overlay to current underwriting practices by incorporating various tangible and intangible green building attributes into the underwriting equation through the industry-wide adoption of the Green Building Underwriting Standards.
Subcommittee - Standards Equivalency
This subcommittee acts to determine equivalency of other national and international industry standards for use within the constructs of the Green Building Investment Underwriting Standards.
Subcommittee - Greenhouse Gas Protocol
This subcommittee acts to determine market opportunities for real estate investors to achieve financial benefits due to greenhouse gas reduction credits from asset-based activities such as investments in efficiency and onsite renewable energy.
Capital Markets Products Committee
This committee is focused on working with capital market participants to create structured finance products, investment vehicles, and other avenues for green building investment. Initiatives include:
